Charles grew up in a very poor home, often mistreated and abused by his mother. He turned to the streets at a very young age to find food and people to help him. After only one week in the street he was arrested. He was jailed in Nairobi but after a short time he was released and returned to the streets. Our partner, Joseph, the Director of Global Hope Rescue and Rehabilitation Center was contacted by a concerned member of the community who was worried about Charles. He very willingly came to the rescue center, excited to finally live in a supportive home. Always laughing and putting a smile on everyones face, Charles' attitude and demeanor has changed tremendously since coming to the center last year. We are so happy to see him back in school with friends and enjoying his childhood. |
