Jane has taught at the Longonot Education Center for the last 31 years. Until we met Jane four years ago she struggled to provide her students with adequate school supplies, a safe and sturdy classroom (that didn't leak or flood), and daily lunch. In 2012 we constructed two new classrooms, a kitchen, dining hall, and three new toilets for Jane and her students. One of the reasons we initially felt inspired to help Jane was that rather than asking for money when our team first met her, she asked simply for a photo of her and her students. This showed us just how much her students mean to her. To show how much we appreciate all of Jane's hard work and dedication to her students over the last 31 years we hope to give her and her family the Christmas they want and deserve! |
Jane's idea of a perfect Christmas would be:
"My perfect Christmas would be to have a goat to feed my big family, and maybe chapati flour, cooking fat and if possible some money for new clothes. The school could also benefit from new chairs for the kids desks, and some touch ups on some painting. The kids would also love a new football!" Her wish-list
