Larry is 15 years old and one of five children in his family. He left his home and family in 2011 after they could no longer support him. Larry was one of our most difficult cases of rehabilitation when we started our program for street children in 2013. He was a regular user of inhalants, and often ran away from class. He was completely resistant to change, until early 2014 when he had a drastic change of heart and worked very hard to make up for his wrong doings. Harry returned to school in January of 2014 and by September he had already been elected “Head Boy” of his entire school. Larry is also referred to as "Judge" by his peers due to his ability to diffuse and mediate conflicts between others at both school and the rescue center he now lives. Larry is an incredibly strong and determined individual; his shocking transformation is proof of these qualities. He is also playful, energetic, and always making those around him laugh. It's difficult to put into words how proud of Larry we are, in fact we couldn't if we tried. |
