Pirez lost his father to HIV at an early age, leaving his mother, Lea, to provide for him and his two younger twin brothers by herself. Our organization first met Pirez after meeting Lea at our partner organization, Living Positive Kenya. Now that Pirez has a sponsor, Lea is able to use the profits she makes from her newly started seamstress business to feed and care for Pirez and his younger brothers without worrying about his school fees. A hard worker and a very good student, Pirez has a very bright future according to his teachers. In fact last year the teachers from his old public school commented how sad they were to have seen him transferred to the private school he currently attends. His new teachers have also expressed how impressed they are with his performance and attitude! Pirez loves to draw and hopes to become an engineer one day, and we believe he can if he wants to - after all he got the highest scores on the exams for his entire class this year and last! |
